Bone cancer
Bone cancer symptoms include numbness, tingling, tenderness,
or a decrease in blood flow (coldness, weakened pulse). It’s not clear what
causes most bone cancers, but doctors know bone cancer begins as an error in
the cell’s DNA. Diagnosis depends on what your doctor recommends: bone scan,
computerized tomography (CT), Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Positron
emission tomography (PET), or X-ray. The treatments vary from surgery,
chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

RicketsRickets
symptoms include delayed growth, pain in the spine pelvis and legs, and muscle
weakness. Rickets can occur if your
child's body doesn't get enough vitamin D or if his or her body has problems
using vitamin D properly. X-rays of the affected bones can reveal bone
deformities. Blood and urine tests can confirm a diagnosis of rickets and also
monitor the progress of treatment. For some cases of bowlegs or spinal
deformities, your doctor may suggest special bracing to position your child's
body appropriately as the bones grow. More severe skeletal deformities may
require surgery.
